tank roles

If i design a tank that is eligible for more than one role, what is the difference of choosing one or the other.

only example I can think of : main armament flamethrower, heavy chassis. what is the difference between putting it in a flame tank company or a heavy tank battalion?

I don't think you can put a heavy flamethrower tank to a heavy tank battalion.

My friend was unable to design a template with spgs until he designated his howitzer tank as an spg...

so i am getting the impression that your designation ,atters.

I have no clue how to design SPAA to be honest. Figured out SPG's but not aa's... ;p

you need to research aa gun in artillery

then you put that in main armament, then it will tell you that this design is eligible for spaa but you can still keep it as a tank if you want..........

the thing is, I have 1940 AA already researched, and no matter which gun i'll choose, can't have the tank in AA role

a turretless design also disqualifies a tank from being aa
