Game running incredibly slow

It seems to launch just fine, but about a week ago, the moment I go into singleplayer and new game, onto the map screen with the nations, it just begins to run stupidly slow, and i don't just mean slow, I mean that it's essentially unplayable. I tried disabling some textures, but it barely did anything. I've tried some clean installs too. It might also be happening with my other games? anyone run into this problem before and know how to fix it?

Old engine, new mechanics... game is pretty much it alot of problems.
Even mods cant fix this mess right now.

try clearing some storage

the game was released in 2016, with an even older engine base. I guess its time for a HOI5 soon, isnt it?

Yeah 9/10 times running strangely terrible is a driver issue or a failing gpu that sort of thing.

It depends. The GPU doesnt make many problems in terms of gamespeed: most its the CPU. Also, if you have a fast gamespeed after 1950, you have a beast of a system. Most people have a slow gamepace after that time, as there are to many unit around that need to be simulated.
