How to supply a naval invasion?

I have tried to look for an answer but I cant find one. I apologies but I am a noob. Playing US and attempting naval invasions against Japan and Germany. I have made sure I have safe route, naval superiority on sea zones and air superiority in air zones. I have enough transports (I think. I cant find a "transport" unit. just the transport tech and convoys. I have over 1000 convoys and transport tech II.) No matter how large or small my force I always get told I have "Max Supplied Divisions: 0" I can not understand how to set up supply somehow for a naval invasion. Can someone kindly spell it out in toddler language for me cause I've read everything I could find and nothing seems to help.

I are dumb. Please help.

do you have Naval Bases on the Landing spot?
If no try getting them with your invasion troops, if you cant break through try building one, but then chances are high that your divisions die because they cant get away with no naval Base.

Only Naval Bases can provide Supply on Coastlines.

For my invasions (mostly on Britan as Germany) i set up the invasion from my port to the enemy coastline but not on a Naval Base, because the AI is some kind Stupid to only guard Naval Bases and not the space around it.
When i Land i set up a Frontline with aggressive Attack pattern and let them spread out to overwhelm the closest Enemys and may encircle some Naval Bases and capture them.
Up until i run out of Supply i mostly got at least one Naval Base.

Elenjo - I have no naval bases on that continent yet. I an attempting to take a port by invasion. It wont let me launch the invasion because I have no supply. Thats the dilemma I keep running in to. everything I read says you need to take a port, but I cant take a port because I have no supply. so I need to take a port so I can have a supply link, and so goes the endless circle.

Any wisdom is greatly appreciated.

P.S. I cant paradrop into there either. no reason given except its not valid. I assume its a supply issue again, but I just dont understand this supply chain. IT seems you must have a solid ground link to all supplies, but obviously that cant be right or you could never do a land or air invasion.

i think its just a buggy message because you dont own it..

and why cant you launch the invasion?
You should have 50% Naval Supremacy and let them plan that invastion (which should take ~80Days) and then you should be fine

btw, if you take enemy Naval bases you own them and can use them.
Naval Base is the Ingame term for Port ^^

I have attempted the invasion on both sides of teh port as well. Same message. It counts down the planning period, and then never launches. It just sits there saying no supplies.

I have 100% naval and air supremacy in teh channel, and 72% air supremacy over the land I'm invading.

Maybe your start location cant provide enough supply, because the last time i played (around 5 days ago) i was still be able to invade next to a port.

And stop your field marshal from training, maybe thats the reason

the only questions that i have is, did you set up the invasion as your field marshal or the army itself?
and what says the Army itself about the invasion? (hover over the checkmark where you start the invasion)

otherwise i m clueless, and the only solution maybe could be if you provide your savegame so me or other can look ingame whats going on

well easy answer i guess XD

but as a tip, dont invasion on the port because the ai wards it normally , try next to a port and then rush it , saves you trouble and units

sweet! much appreciated. The UI for this game is complex but I love the possability it allows for. Gonna take some getting use to, but I really like it so far. Just need to keep playing, and keep watching experts play, and I'll get it down.

yeah, its gotten quite hard with the No step back dlc, but the game is defitnly worth it

But to be fair i dont think USA is a easy Nation to begin Hoi4, i would either recommend Germany or Russia, ( russia for the fact that you have quite the place for the economy)

It says max supplied division 0 because 0 divisions are in the designated area XD

Check again after you took the port.

A few tips for naval invasions:

1) If you have the patience to do it, always make a lot of smaller invasions instead of a single large one. Example: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2745100518
There are many benefits, enemy navy can't intervene with all of them, you will have more opportunities to capture a naval port and you'll be much more flexible after the invasion. A large invasion can take up to several months to set up, but 24 invasions with 1 unit each take only 3 days. To do this just select each division in an army and set up the invasion plan with all of them.

2) Always have 2-3 reserve armies ready in a nearby friendly port to reinforce the landing troops. Once your first troops land it's all about speed. If you let the enemies surround you and dig in, it will be very difficult to continue with the push, especially against Germany in 1943.
