Way too complicated
I have written a couple of times already about my experience with the game, that's the last on this topic. I find game's complexity to be beyond anything I know. It is attractive and interesting, I spent more than 1000 hours playing it. Now, after a 1000 hours, I finally managed somehow, with greatest stress and trouble to beat Britain. I was playing on the easiest level possible with all thinkable cheats (manpower, instant construction, research, etc) on. Still, even with this whole stuff on the game is relatively hard. I have no idea guys, how you play it without cheats and on the higher complexity levels. It's probably just not for me - the game is impossible hard.

Once you understand what it's important to focus on, the game becomes much more easy specially with majors and good minors like Yougoslavia or China. For example when playing with the Soviets, if I want to wait for Barbarossa, I always max boost Germany and Italy and you barely see any difference compares at non boosted. Actually it's better since the Allies will have really hard time so you will have the Axis just for you. Once you will learn how to beat the game, you will see how easy it is. I made multiple guides for people who was asking some help and it's all the time really one sided for the country I'm playing with.

I don't really like to play on Elite because I do not like to be nerfed, I prefer to boost the countries I will face. But I did both already and with majors, most of the time, it's not that hard. But you have some scenarios that can be more complicated.

@OP, you do remember to stop exercising your troops before going to war?

You effectively use no fuel, research much faster, produce more in less time and resources for production are negligible. So basically, research and industry are irrelevant. You should have better equipment and more equipment and divisions. So no need for in depth strategy...

Plus you cheat despite those advantages. How old are you? Serious question, not mocking.

maybe try going back to hex-based mobile games? Sound like those are more your speed...

I agree. im in 350 hours. I play with buffs (and cheats). I ok with sucking, im unwilling to "invest" (waste) the time.

im just dont like the time that gets wasted in setup and dealing with the little things that are NOT micromanaging (so leaving up PPL, short focuses, decisions...)

the good thing about call of duty is, that its fun for the second you get in.

(350h*$25 = $8700 in time... damn I need a job)

I'm not sure how this game isn't fun. What fun is something that is so easy to understand it has no challenge? Games like that exist, actually tons of them exist. They require no real thinking, just clicking mindless thought... This is a GRAND strategy game. If you want something simple, play risk...

The game is can be hard, but it really just depends how you're playing it. You're likely making it harder than it needs to be. Stop doing things that fail, and start rethinking it. If thinking is to much, then play a game that doesn't require thinking.

OP I would recommend WW3 black gold (from 2001), and C&C generals.

HOI4 isn't for everyone. that's why i got my training wheels haha

Okay what? are you serious is that even possible i took Britain out as the Germans on normal below the 100 hour mark this game isn't even as hard as Victoria 2 or Stellaris. I would usually be a bit less blunt but i find this hard to believe. I would also usually recommend something too but to be honest if you have 1000 hours on it you probably already found out most of the stuff on accident.

Is Stellaris actually difficult?
