speed improves damage inflicted and reduces damage taken and improves or reduces bombers disrupted.
agility though is more important
With this all keep eye on keeping high reliability or accidents will eat your fighter much faster than enemy.
Air attack is more important for bomber interception while agility give upper hand in actual air combat for superiority.
Speed is somehow secondary. Worthy to note some mods adjust the importance of values like speed (eg. it is major stat in BICE)
Range is mandatory as it gives major penalties - but it is very dependant on country and air infrastructure/distances/air zones size where you play (eg. in Europe is much easier be ok with low range than in Asia)
In some specific scenario (like heavy fighters on interrupt startegic in large air zones..) air attack might be more efficient - but game can be more smooth and easier without thinking too much about such edge scenarios.
