Mods not working on hoi4

Whenever I enable a mod (the main reason I have hoi4) it just loads up the base game, without the mod. I've reinstalled the game and mod multiple time, and no luck. No error screen or anything, the mod just doesn't load up. What's wrong?

Wow thought I was the only one, I don't know it must be something to do with an update? I was so furious and annoyed I uninstall the whole game lol

It use to have a enable and disable mod section but the new update got rid of that and new mods i download don't see to work.

I have tons of preset, and I already did try to make another one with zero effect. I redownloaded the whole mod I subscribed literally 3 times and took me days, and none of which worked.

oh yeah I did take all things forum provided like reset cache, check integrity, deleting mod folder in hoi 4 documents, this and that. none of which has worked

I am thinking they just effectively removed steam workshop support, forcing you to use their mod collections...... hint, i do not have a paradox account, and never will, i HATES extra accounts because ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ want to have more data to mine, same reason no bungie, no EA..... and i suppose this means i will not use mods..... which translates to probably not playing the game anymore.

nah, the only reason people buy their game's for their mod. remove it and they can't milk this game no more

ya i've been having this issue but I just redownloaded and made a playset with only the mod on it.

Did u ever change the harddrive the game was installed on? I had problems after moving the games location from the HDD to my SSD. Still downloaded the mods to the HDD instead of the SSD

nope, I just taking a break from playing this for a week, and when I replay it with one new mod added, it won't start the mod. I tried everything I can possibly think of but none of which worked.

The problem is due to to the Paradox launcher. The following worked for me:

Please try this:

- exit the Steam app entirely
- uninstall Paradox Launcher v2 from the Windows "Apps and features" utility, if still present.

Delete the following folders if still present:

- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Roaming/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

- run steam.exe as the Windows Admin user

- run the game from the PLAY button in Steam
