So the Austria-Hungary achievement is basically impossible.

I've been trying for months now and I can't for the life of me find a situation where you don't have to fight half the world in order to get the achievement

Savescumming barely does anything: Reloading an old save in Ironman doesn't change anything (yes I tried, if I see a single comment on this I stg I will go ballistic on your ass, commenter)

Using the "default" game rule instead of historical also barely does anything since half the time defaulted nations will go historical, or close to it. Sure I can try to make Germany go monarchist with the default option but that barely ever happens. And even when that happens they drag Italy into the Central Powers and it barely changes the difficulty.

The only faction you could belong to would be the Cominterm because that's the only faction whose territorial ambitions don't overlap yours (except in Silesia ig but that's indirect and you can probably get it yourself). Now good luck getting into it since it's Communist and half the time the Soviets get destroyed in a game setting where it's conceivable that AH exists.

You play almost entirely in an area of the map with VERY low manpower and basically can't fight a war properly untill you've cored Yugoslavia and Transylvania. Now good luck getting to that point and still having Germany, France, the UK, and Italy (all the 4 major powers you have to fight to do this, most of the time simultaneously) weak enough to be possible for you to beat.

And to top it all off, you can't even start a run without 2 RNG checks, and sod's law they will fail no matter what you do. Seriously, how the ♥♥♥♥ is this achievement supposed to be possible?

Anyways rant's over, if you guys have any way to possibly beat this, hit me. I sure as hell don't. And remember that savescumming is something I'm already trying. Yes I have to do this in bold because 9 times out of 10 when I ask someone for help they just say "just savescum it lol".

Savescumming requires you to save about 1-2 months before the event fires to actually change it. If you save it the day before the event, the outcome is already decided and no amount of reloads will change it.

Welcome to HOI-4: because of development oversights, 75% of the scenarios the game prevents you with are impossible and you'll need to win the entire war in order to get to where the game thinks you should be in 1939.

Are we talking the "Miklos Horthy and the Habsburg Prince"?
If so you don't need to annex the Czechs right away though it is preferable. Even if you annex you will still have to face the Sudetenland focus from Germany to my knowledge, so you will have to join the Axis to prevent that loss.

Or are we talking about "Australia-Hungary"?
That one is actually quite easy though it's been a while for me so the procedure might be wonky.
Research paratroopers, build them, break free from the UK and turn fascist, join the Axis and justify on Hungary before they can join the Axis as well. Declare war and drop in around Budapest (not on it) then quickly overwhelm the defenders. Move out from Budapest to the other two VPs east and south and bobs your uncle.
Should be doable by end of '38

It is now much easier than it ever was - either join Axis (but dont join wars, just leave and backstab germany while it will be busy on eastern front) or wait for german civil war in ahistorical focuses (happen now almost 50% games), conquer both germanies and do what you want as Europe superpower.

Otherwise there is tons of guides for this, jsut use google - it is far from impossible.
