If you didn't understand any of that, I highly recommend you play a minor nation or a bigger nation that doesn't get involved in WW2 like Canada, Belgium, spain (pick nationalists in the civil war), etc. You can focus on learning the game.
Be careful not to overload supply capacity. I find it easier to push in the south as you have better terrain, but mountain troops can push at weak points in the north.
