Game stuck on "Reloading Installed Mods" *FIXED*

I open it up, it says "Reloading Installed Mods" and then never stops. It's endless. Can't play with any mods whilst this is happening, as playsets are inaccessible.

Kinda sick of Paradox's new launcher. Had, and still has, issues for EU4 and now this.

(for context I'm running on a debian-based system, but people seem to have the same issue on Windows so I doubt it's an OS-specific issue)

FIXED 14/10/2021:

The answer is below, but for an even shorter one:
- Go to HoI4 workshop
- Click on "Subscribed Items"
- Go through each one. If clicking on it brings up an error page, the mod has been removed from the workshop at that location. So unsubscribe.

What I'm assuming the error was is that it's trying to load a nonexistent mod whilst having data saying the mod does exist and that you have it.

I recommend going straight to the HoI4-specific workshop rather than the method below, as otherwise all mods show up, and in my case that was 144 pages of about 1500 mods.

Yes, I have that same problem. Launcher version 2021.8.1.

This is happening to me too and I do not now why. I have left the launcher running for about an hour and it has done nothing. I have tried uninstalling most mods and it doesn't do anything.

So it seems to be two things. One, issues with getting workshop content, and if not that, issues with launcher loading.

This is how i've managed to get it to work 100% of the time. Go down the list until it's fixed

1. Game Settings > Clear User Directory
2. Subscribe/unsubscribe from a mod on the workshop. Any mod.
3. User > Documents > Paradox Interactive > Hearts of Iron 4. Delete the entire folder. (Probably can delete a subfolder instead, but I can't confirm. This will wipe Settings/mod playlists/save games so watch out.)

If not that, it's a launcher issue

4. Close any non-essential programs. Don't click off launcher window. Don't have any downloads/disk use going. Don't click anything until at least 'All Installed Mods' catagory pops up on the right.

The launcher is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mess and I hope they fix it soon. I had to ♥♥♥♥ around for 20 mins before I played HoI before with these issues, hope this helps

Nothing works!!! I ve tried everything. I unsubribed all mods and downloaded them again, I deleted the files that everyone's suggesting, I selected and diselected the beta version of the launcher, I even tried changing the version of the entire game BUT NOTHING WORKS. Everything I do, it keeps saying "Reloading Installed Mods" forever! I don't know what else to do.

Create a new playset and choose the mods you want to play in that set and then choose that playset and click play

I still cant access my mods tab, but a new playset worked

Unfortunately the 'reloading new mods' bit covers up the playset tab as well.

Yes, however I don't have any playsets set up. I recently clean reinstalled the game, so there are none other than the initial one. Trying to make new playsets is impossible as it's covered up trying to load the mods from workshop.

Fix their launcher. Meanwhile Paradox: launcher is fine, the war propaganda bug doesn't exist, the thing when you get caught doing war propaganda in peace deal or hot join it breaks and you can't do a new one cause it says it is allready running one but it isn't. For that I found a fix decisions.nochecks click war propaganda and it is fixed. But that problem as well Paradox be like: is fine we fix it next update. eventually

But about the reloading mods problem I unsubscribed all mods and resubscribed, have let them completly reinstall but I still have the problem. I even reinstalled the game. Still nothing but apprently the reloading mods needs some time and then it lets me use my mods but still it is annoying.
