Outdated Hulls with Naval DLC, please help
So i keep setting up some Hulls with the Naval DLC.

The game seems to randomly decide which Hull is outdated.
This happens to Cruisers and Battleships/Battlescruisers.

Tried to find a solution online, but i could not find any explanation on what would make my entirely new design outdated and what not. This is incredibly stupid, since i can only go for "up to date" designs as either type of CL/CA or BB/BC, rarely ever can i produce both types without one being outdated.

Any input on that is appreciated.

I thought it just makes it outdated if you made a new design for it, but if your new designs are getting it after making them that`s odd but it shouldn`t effect the way they run.

That is what i thought, but the game just decides by the state of the moon or something. Sure it does not change the way they work, its just annoying to find the designs after a while.
You absolutely control which designs are current and which are not by simply selecting the design as current or outdated. No need to trust the AI with this. I never do. Every time you make a new design, you should invalidate, or not, the previous design. It’s really quite simple.

How exactly? The ship designer has no checkbox or anything that could mark my design as current.

On the equipment list when you are building a new ship/plane/etc. there is a dot-check on the top-right for obsolete or not. That is the list where you select what to build not the ship/equipment designer itself.

Now that could be explained somewhere...

Thanks a lot, you saved me from some headaches.

Anytime you change any piece of equipment no matter how minor the previous piece of equipment is now considered out of date .

In the ship design box on the top left is a empty square that if you put a check mark in it will show all your out-of-date designs. After you put a check mark in that box there's a little small Dot next to every out of date piece of equipment no matter if it's a tank or a plane or a ship. If you hit that little dot with your cursor it will take it from out of date to up-to-date . That way if you want to build earlier designs they will not show up as out of date anymore and then you can also make stuff out of date anytime you want by clicking that little Dot.

I will try to take a screenshot here in a little bit and post it .

If your looking for a way to turn off outdated equipment then I do not know how. If you are adding say guns to a cruiser hull then it will depend on what caliber gun you put on the hull thus making the new one either a heavy cruiser or a light cruiser. With battleships I believe it's the armor belt thus making the new one a battleship or battle cruiser. Once you make any changes then the old model is "outdated". Just go and select the outdated list and recommission the old hull. Once you recommission the old hull/ship/tank/plane etc,etc then it will not be grayed out and thus look and feel up to date.
