didnt play much twr but tno has ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gameplay and writing. nothing makes sense, the game tries to look complicated by throwing flashy looking graphs and menus

Tbh, never played TWR so can't say much about it but seems it is just two diffrent mods focusing on the 1950 after germany won ww2. Personly I love TNO but it is not for all people it is more a story you are reading in events then really a HOI game war is not much and not the focus for most countries. It can be TWR takes more of a normal hoi gamplay and war aspect but seems they also focus on story. It depends on you I would say try them both and see if you like them or not.

twr is more like normal hoi4, it has some shorter focus trees, mostly length of 1952-to 1960 or rarely past that, and some really minor ones that dont go far at all, it has a near same system of like everything to vanilla, its like kaiserreich really. It also def isnt such a story mod and isn't as flambouyant as tno without as many cursed and blessed routes :((
It has like about 10 russian warlords unlike tnos 4875858476555463393445363748857553

I played TWR and I need at least some place to share my thoughts. A lot of people say TNO is too unrealistic. Maybe it's true, but I don't care, because it shows great story with great atmosphere, which I can believe in. It isn't really hoi4. It's novel, where you just turn on main OST, read events and feel this horror. And TWR... uhm... well, if you want to play vanila hoi4 on different map, it's diffinitely better. If you want to see world, where reich won, that's just the worst choice. No atmosphere at all. USA invades french state, denmark, germany, nukes paris because it can, and poor reich must endure it. It's world, where USA won even more, because USSR isn't great anymore, but reich is too weak to compete USA on the same level. USA just rules whole world: both americas, most of Asia, Africa and even has UK in Europe, and nothing can stop it from taking Europe too. Nuclear weapon is just a joke.

Never tried TWR, but TNO is brimming with atmosphere and will probably appeal to fans of that show, it was ahistorical and a bit OTT while taking itself completely seriously, and so is the mod. Hell, it was probably inspired by the show. But it's also a bit more on-rails than HOI4 despite the cool extra mechanics a lot of countries get. E.g. you can't change your laws directly or declare war whenever you want, a lot of these things are done through the focus trees.

Thousand Week Reich is a playable mod, TNO is a glorified novel that takes away the whole game part of hoi4 out.

Every time I start WW3 in TNO the framerate goes from 60fps to 60spf. TWR has a similar problem too, where it crashes in 1959.
