How do I assign armies to a frontline with a field marshall?

After creating a frontline armies don't move towards it even if I ctrl click the lines.
What am I doing wrong?

It works when I create separate front lines with generals.

You need to have sub armies assigned to generals who are assigned to a FM. It then automatically gives each general an area of the front.

Exactly. But the problem is armies are not moving towards front lines.

I can't figure it out. Maybe I will start a new game later.

You have to assign each army to their respective sub sector. Also if they are on another frontline or fallback line order they wont move post screenshots it will help

How do I figure out if there are any extra frontlines or fallback lines?
I tried merging armies together and it worked for a single army.
But as soon as I split the army, the second half does not like it's front line and plans.

Are there supply problems? Maybe they won't move there because the AI knows they will be undersupplied. I can't remember if the AI is that smart.

Not much to send. Armies are just standing, not moving to frontlines.

Could it be? I started a new game and have no issues anymore but I built some infrastructure.

If your units have a yellow exclamation marker next to their card it can mean there is no supply to move into

Make sure you select the whole army, I sometimes missclick and only select a portion of the army before assigning a front line, then I end up wondering why they aren't moving. Also right click on the trashcan with the army selected to remove any other orders, then assign your frontline, see if that fixes it.
