Free France

[Kiberabobus]

This is my second time playing as France and I just can't figure out what to do when France capitulates. In my second playthrough I chose to form a union with Britain, thus creating Free France. However, several hours after this event I suddenly get an end game screen with the only option being to quit. How did that happen? I had a lot of units in France's colonies, as well as navy units near Britain. What did I do to make Free France fall in a day?

Forming a union with britain makes them annex you,

forming Vichy france turns you into vichy france

Selecting "continue the fight" turns you into free france.

I assume it's a bit different without la résistance but it should overall be the same.


It doesn't have anything to do with Paris, you capitulate based on many factors.

Oh I see, thanks. I didn't realize Britain's annexation of France was game over.

Yeah exactly. Having that option in the first place makes no sense looking back to it now. A sudden popup telling you to either keep fighting or just lose the game, why exactly would that be an option? Also, choosing it created Free France for half a day so that was what confused the hell outta me and made me make this post
