Bug with the 'why die for Danzig?' achievement

I just found this bug and i have no clue why it works. The bug works as following: Play on 1.9.0, and start an ironman game as Germany. I also played without la Résistance. Use the observe exploit to switch over to France. As France go down the fascist tree and try to turn them fascist through a civil war. After you won the civil war (which is not difficult at all), you should get the achievement. Keep in mind that you dont even need to play 1 second of Germany to get this achievement, let alone conquering Danzig. Does anyone know how and why i triggered the achievement?

I actually did this achievement in 1.9.0 and yes ... it's very buggy.

I did it by going to war with Czechoslovakia via the focuses in games with historical focuses turned off. (high possibility of the Czechs refusing the Sudetenland and France declaring war on you if you rush the focuses)

In this case France declares war on Germany and therefore you can beat Czechoslovakia and France and annex or puppet them without failing the achievement. Just turn France into a fascist puppet state after that and then trigger the Danzig or war focus. In this case it still counts as though you never were in war with France before.

I tried it several times and always failed. I finally succeeded by releasing all 4 possible French puppet states in the war conference and then triggering the focus Danzig or war.

I think that you turned into the 'right' French state for the achievement by switching sides in the civil war and Germany fired up the Danzig or war focus without you intervening. That's why you got the achievement.

It's not a bug, you used an exploit

The achievement is triggered if you START as Germany and France at any point turns fascist without having been at war with Germany.
By using an exploit you are circumventing the ironman restrictions keeping you locked in as Germany and the game will never double check your current TAG unless specifically mentioned in the achievement.
Note that you can't get french specific achievements by using that exploit to become France since you the game is locked in as "Started as GER"

Correct, I found out you don't need to occupy Danzig as Germany as I previously assumed, therefor turning France fascist was enough. Quite a misleading name and discription of the achievement in my opinion. Thank you!
