I have resolved the situation. The best part about this is that the Germans during ww2 invaded yugoslavia. Thats where my family is from and we don't get offended. We were executed and Hitler thought that we were the most inferior race. I don't get that offended. Also I've since resolved the situation. And I have a nice ww1 iron cross sitting in my room :D
Also: nazis drove german cars and used them in battle, should we ban all cars that a nazi at some poont drove?
Same goes for bycicles
Probably the best response to that is to invoke the "Hitler ate sugar" fallacy, which states that an evil man using something does not automatically make that thing bad. The meaning of the name is basically "Hitler ate sugar, does that mean eating sugar turns people into megalomaniacs?" Fun fact, a modified version of the Iron Cross (with the swastika removed, obviously) is in use as the highest decoration of the modern German military.
