Mac OS Big Sur

I've updated to Mac OS Big Sur and now HOI4 is not starting. Game launcher is not shown. Game goes from play to stop to play in steam and nothing happens.

Any ideas why?

MacOS Big Sur is a very early beta at the moment, so it is really buggy. A lot of apps I use simply didn't work so I downgraded back to Catalina and everything worked fine again.

Big Sur hit the street yesterday and unfortunately, HOI4 exhibits the same behaviour with the release version as described by the OP in July. EU4, Stellaris, and Imperator all work, but HOI4 just generates crash reports.

Hello All,

Same problem here since yesterday after the Big Sur update.

What I tried step by step (but still not working) :

Remove all steam games
Remove steam app
Delete launcher folders, steam folders, paradox folders
Reinstall Steam app and HoI4.
Launch HoI4
Message telling that HoI4 didn’t find a launcher and choose "no" to force launcher install
Launch again HoI4
Launcher appeared but on the left, near the paradox logo, orange dot telling « a launcher update has been downloaded - please restart to apply update »
Quit
Restart HoI4
Give authorizations for folder access
Again orange dot
Restart launcher
Ask for an other folder access (documents)
No more dot
Version Collie v1.10.2 (f82d)
Launcher v 2020.14
Click « play »
Red triangle at the right of the play button - « launching the game failed »

As already said by other gamers, no problem with other Paradox games (CK3, EU4, Stellaris, Imperator Rome…) with Big Sur

No problem with HoI4 under Parallels Windows 10.
