Fate of Czechoslovakia event

So, I conquered Czechoslovakia early on as Italy in a recent game and puppeted them. Fast forward to when Germany tries to annex them. I get a notification they're trying to do it, but no action to be taken. A week later, Czechoslovakia flips to Germany and Slovakia like in a normal game, but I'm at war with Germany.

Go back and try it again, this time I annex all of it. Same result. Looked at the NF for Germany and it doesn't seem to have the normal condition that the target be independent or even existent. This seems kinda broken to me.

Similar situation with the SU, Romania, and the Bessarabia seizure event. Lost my whole Maginot of the East that way, even though Bessarabia was *my* territory.

Anyone else experience this or know of a fix?
