What kind of terrain does a strait count as?
The red dotted lines over water where units can move without ship transport. Does this count as an amphibious assault? Does it count as a river?

River. Cause you don't need to plan a landing.

Are you guys sure? When hovering over a piece of enemy territory that's on the other side of a strait, normal infantry isn't showing a negative attack debuff like the usually do when attacking across a river. Selecting marines to do the attack and selecting normal infantry shows no difference.

I think it's counted as river crossing
I think it's a whole thing itself. When I tried to take Corsica from Sardinia, my normal infantry had a -99% attack modifier, much worse than a normal river. Marines didn't seem to have much trouble, though
