Do puppeted nations keep their divisions?
Conquered and puppeted Spain, who were supposed to have around 60 divisions immediately after the civil war. Blitzkrieg armored rush to their victory points, quick win, puppet... And they have 5. I did isolate and destroy a couple significant forces on the way in, but there should be more.

Is it because I annexed the regions the armies were in, possibly? Or do they just disband their divisions when they capitulate?

For the most time. Yes, they lose most of all divisions
Well, that sucks ><

They should get refunded the remaining manpower and equipment from those disbanded divisions. They would have to retrain but if they have lots of men and gear they should be able to build many new divisions. I am not 100% sure that they keep manpower and equipment but I think this is the way it is supposed to work. They do lose a lot of equipment that was in the stockpile to their new overlords but I think they keep equipment that was in the field.

I've seen puppeted countries recover militarily pretty fast, so I think they lose the divisions but keep a bunch of the equipment (that which you don't capture, at least).

Moreover, they keep a lot of ships, which is pretty useful when playing a weak naval power and defeating Britain or France (or even someone like the Scandinavian countries).
Shame you can't lend-lease their captured gear back to them, doesn't seem like. If they do get refunded for their active divisions, I guess I probably shouldn't encircle and kill them all, then... they're inferior enough to me in terms of weapons that I can almost ignore them most of the time, anyway, at least right at the start.

Problem with their fleet is, it's in the med, and I have to kill it before I can make my beachhead for the invasion. Would be nice to have it active... but this time after I steal France from the Germans while they're stuck at the Maginot, I'll try a quick paratrooper assault on Britain and puppet THEM for THEIR fleet XD

Attack the northern islands above England. Then assault the Scottish highlands with marines. Take a port and land an army in the port and go from there. If you want to back up the main army, send in a secondary force across the channel at the base of England near London while the main British garrisons deal with the first assault.
I was trying to avoid naval invasions because they take so long to plan, and because I don't want to have to kill most of their fleet because they're going to be MY ships soon. Been told that 10x Paratroopers is enough to get a good beachead going to quickly sil an army across the channel before they're intercepted. Going to give it a try :D

Britian can spam ships like crazy. I've never used paras before Ima, but find naval invasions viable. Use a small force (10) for a short prep time. Some generals have perks to lesson that time too.
This is going to be at the point well before I have access to more than 10 divisions worth of landing forces.

Kek, I hardly ever upgrade that. You just need 10 divisions. For northern Britiain. You may need 100 to land near London tho.

Speaking of naval invasions. Played as Germany and allied with Poland. Ussr declared war on Poland and devoted all its forces to the front. Launched a few divisions on Leningrad and utterly destroyed them. No resistance when o first landed, didn't k ow what hit them.

Same thing happened to me as Germany against Britain. They declared war on Japan and I stayed out. France and britian sent all their forces into Asia and I took both countries with little reisitance
