Austria Hungary, how the hell do you annex Czechslovakia

Hey there, Ive been playing the Austria Hungary path of Hungary and keep hitting this snag. Basically I am able to annex Austria, rearm and get around 250k man power in the field. However, I constantly fail to annex Czech
I improve relations
Do the reintergrate railroad
And every single time Czech becomes puppet Kingdom of Bohemia, meaning I end up in a war 2 months later with Germany and get ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Does anyone know anything else I can do to boost my chances of getting anexation?

I have a feeling it is just RNG. In my two games as Austria-Hungary I did exactly what you described and they chose to join me both times. Then I was able to invade Poland before the Germans and Soviets could get around to it and picked up momentum from there.

Yeah I was wondering if it is just RNG. Do you think troop numbers affect it as well?

Cause atm i do all the other stuff right and its just annoyign when Czech's decide to be a puppet and get me killed

It could be a factor, I know I had pretty much all my manpower in divisions on their border at the time.

if you hate it that much, savescum. there's a way to savescum in ironman that you can use. i've done it a few times for things that I need to have happen

I did not wait that long, I did it as soon as I could with the only deviation being going after the secret military buildup in one game. I don't think there is any guaranteed way to do it, I would be shocked if there was not always a significant RNG element. That being said, I am 2 for 2 with going after it before Germany is ready to.

Yeha it just seems to be really damn serious RNG. I did later gate Czechs by backstabbing hitler as Operation Barbarossa went tits up, however, as is the case with most war peace deals, Soviets got the lion’s share, and soviet puppets Slovakia :(

I got sudentend and Bohemia though which are cores so pushed my manpower, with 600k army up to 1 mill.

However then joined in Japanese war.

Invaded Japanese mainland and took it all unaided
Invaded east Germany as that for some reason joined Asian Co Prosperity sphere

And I got absolutely nothing in the peace deal. Like nothing. Not even a single province.

What is save scumming? Is it using someone else’s save?

there's a paradox interactive folder seperate to your steam folder which houses your savegames and all that.

so what you do is copy the save file just prior to the focus finishing, pasting it on your desktop or in another area. then once it passes, if it isn't the result you want, exit to the main menu, delete the save file in the savegame folder, and paste the one that you copied earlier in.

boom, back to just before it finishes, so you can try your luck till it works.

do the same thing but use a facist demegog and turn facist. join axis, when germany demands the sudetenland dont accept and re join axis if germany kickes you. thats how plus never leave axis or els germany atacks you.
