When you go on clicking 'create variant' there is in the lower right corner a grey 'upgrade' button, but no matter what I change in my old design, it becomes 'save' , NOT 'upgrade'.
And this is why I cannot refit my ships. I know, how this is done, because, as I said, I did it before. I just do not know why it doesn't work anymore. Oh, and btw it doesn't work for other countries as well.
It just makes no sense to me, why I cannot replace AA I with AA II without designing a whole new ship. I thought this is what the DLC is all about.
Rather than being happy about the DLC, I start to loath the mechanic that I was looking forward to.
so you cant retro fit a 1934 destroyer to a 1936 destroyer 2 variant.
It is only used to retrofit better modules onto your existing fleet hulls, like adding radar for most nations as the tech comes after your initial fleet. (yes you can put 1944 weapons on a 1934 hull, its just dumb...)
