What is a Battlecruiser?
I tried to do the Achievement for having 9 Battlecruisers as the UK but there isn't just Battlecruisers anymore. Its now just Cruiser Hulls and the game doesn't tell me what it wants. I had over 100 Cruisers but they didn't count as Battlecruisers

I got the achievement yesterday, check your fleets for BC and then build that ship. You should only have to build 7 of them.

Battlecruisers are build on heavy hulls. There is specific "battlecruiser armour" component. Historically they had similiar guns as battleships. Not sure what the achievement counts as BC, but I could guess heavy hull+heavy battery+battlecruiser armour.

Battlecruisers are another name for "fast Battleships", so it's a heavy hull with lighter components (like BC armor as said above).

A large cruiser with limited armour designed to be faster than a regular battleship while having almost the same size guns and still retaining the long range capability of a cruiser
Their primary function was merchant raiding but that function was only truely done by the Germans as the British tended to use them in the battlelines (and subsequently losing them in said battleline due to not having any armour)

If you meant in game then a battlecruiser is a heavy hulled ship with the battlecruiser armour rather than battleship armour

Have to be careful there. You are correct in that most nations equate fast battleship with battlecruiser, however for the British they are two different things

Checked this in-game. 1939 start, UK. Admiral and Renown classes are classified by the game as BCs, and they have BC armour. BBs have BB armour. Both have heavy batteries. So just make heavy hulls with BC armour to get BCs.

Historically they are different terms. BCs have lighter armour to gain speed, but they're not expected to engage BBs. They existed around the same time as pre-dreadnoughts and interwar BBs.
Fast BBs however are expected to be able to engage other BBs, as they have similiar armour as older BBs. Difference is that the more sleek shape and propulsion improvements allows it to go faster than the previous generations, and even to keep up with carriers.

I hate my life... was looking at the super heavy guns meant for super heavy battleships

Use Battlecruiser Armor on your heavy hulls.

This. And in the design menu you can hover over the ship type icon to see what it will be considered.
