Yep.
I made a fall back line with as many river tiles and city tiles as possible on it. The large river through Warsaw is a great defensive line. The city Lodz and excellent for defence it is key you never lose these cities and the land connecting them (as one point I was push back to just them and the two tiles between. Hold Krakow and the area south (which contains iron) for as long as you can. Then actively retreat your troops out to hold the forest below lodz and hill and plain to your right.
Other than these general good defensive points you need to active move your local units onto tiles under attack and counter attack anywhere possible so the Germans have to grind as much as possible for every tile. For this reason I recommend having you units with no orders. Unless you are planning a frontline for a counter attack.
You basically just have to continually hold out until Germany is at war with all its neighbours then they dont have enough troops to defeat you.
