Could be that that was the historical connotation at the time? To be fair quite a bit of the USA DLC content doesn't feel 100% historical (democrats desegregating the US in 1940? Has paradox never heard of dixiecrats?)

Or, it could just be that the devs of hoi4 have no creativity, and being a small dev team (so I hear) they really dont take their proper time or research to create unique or creative focuses.

Like really, just look at the "American Dream" focus with the house as an icon.

Its like the dev have no creativity and all they did was watch youtubers or people, that honestly think that focuses that just give you free land, puppets or warscore in 70 days is a fun thing.
They should have made teh US tree, at least the historical path be combating the great depression and the ♥♥♥♥ stability the US should have. Not to mention the fact that the US at this time (1936) really did not want to get involved in another war.

But who cares right, lets just remove the entire Great Depression the minute we go into war.

also the US focus tree is very OP at the moment, because you can go down the neutrality act and do arsenal or democracy for free, get like 15-20 dockyards through your focuses and get -25% production cost to *MEDIUM TANKS* from a single focus

America First isn't a slogan dreamed up by the right today. The America First Committee in the early 1940s historically had some ties to fascist regimes. Both America First and the fascists in Italy and Germany were nationalists, but of course the latter went quite a bit further. In the alternate history path, it's basically saying things got out of hand and went over the edge into fascism.

You don't. America First is in no way connected with the Silver Legion focuses. But you do have to be a Republican and put back the Gold Standard. AFAI could see, the new focus trees are great, really detailed and make sense.

fascists are basically nationalists. Nationalism is essentially an extreme right-wing form of patriotism. "America First" in this case refers to putting the USA before everything else. US comes first, they come next, it means.
