And always forgot to lay mines during wartime.
SIGH
I had same problem lol.
@Greenblade mines sure are powerfull. But irl mines was THE navykiller. Its a cheap counter to expensive fleets. Im not sure it is op,but i have only done one game so far,and i kinda forgot about the mines. It is to early to tell.
I tried to counter OP (he's a bud of mine) but I was unprepared for the sheer amount of Mines he threw into the fold, The Allies lost control of the English Channel because we just couldn't field a Navy into it, I had 25 Mine Sweepers (and more building) and only got the English channel down to 875 mines instead of 1,000.
Maybe there should be some kind efficiency fall off as the amount of mines in an area increase (could be explained by ships having to avoid the 1000s of mines in an area) - or perhaps simply decrease the speed that they are laid.
It seems like the British player was caught flat-footed or at the least underestimated the number of minesweepers they'd need. Assuming that the two players were both laying more mines and trying to sweep them up simultaneously, the numbers given suggests that the sweepers had the upper hand, just that they were starting from so far behind that the channel was effectively impassible despite their efforts.
Kinda like complaining fire is op if you wait until the entire building is alight before starting to fight it.
