All civil wars in the game are independent and this war must be too.
Well. Just try to peace out with the Allies and kick out the Constitutionalist by using cheats. I mean in a MP Game the Constitutionalist wouldn't be allowed to join the allies in the first place (If you have rules)
It is very standard game mechanic that countries in war tends to join their respective align alliance if world tension allows it.
But even if you dont manage it it is not big deal as you likely join axis at same point that are able help you much more so early than poor UK can help to US. Particualrly due early 1940 you can fund mexico to join Axis so if it is real thing you need just hold on until rest of axis come to your help - but it is nto needed in general.
