Report a translation problem
To refit select the individual ship or ships in the task force and hit the refit button in the task force panel
You have the task force itself selected which won't work
In the first picture I was showing that there is no upgrade button next to the ships, just the task force insignia.
In the second picture I was showing that I had two upgraded templates corresponding to the same hull type/year.
In a last ditch effort I tried matching the icons (gun icon on new template, gun icon on the old template...this was to no avail)
I have the old template decommissioned, and the new templates commissioned.
I was able to upgrade my S Class hulls just fine, not sure what is going on with the destroyer hulls.
yeah, just saw a video on that. As one can tell, my observation skills were sorely lacking. Normally I'm not so stupid.

Figures. So now we can refit planes and tanks to take advantage of the vanilla modification system, but not navies which are eminently more expensive and slower to produce. Delightful.
Ah, well. Thanks for the answer, even though I was hoping I was just stupid.
