Panzer 3 useless ??
so i just finished panzer 4 research in 1939 and the game considers the panzer 3 an outdated model now, so should i just skip on manufacturing it and start on panzer 4s immediatly ???

I usually don’t produce too terribly many PzIII’s cuz you can get IV’s so quick, but I do research the assault gun version of the III, Stug, and produce the hell out of that. I like to put a battalion into my infantry divisions to help harden them up as well as their own tank destroyer divisions.

yeah from reading the stats the support variants made out of the pz3 chassis seems like a good investment especially for early in the war

I usually do two production lines of the stug. The Stugs that go with tank, tank destroyer, and mechanized divisions I continue to upgrade throughout the war, but I never upgrade the engines in the line that goes with my infantry as they can only go as fast as the infantry.

In this game pzIV are a direct uograde to IIIs even though historically that wasn't necessarily the case...

costs a fraction to convert the panzer 3 into a SPG/TD or MAA that can then buff your armor divisions or act as a support for mobile infantry or leg infantry divisions. converting old ♥♥♥♥ is worth it.

that's what confused me a bit, i thought maybe it had a use somewhere but i guess not
