I have 400 hours at hoi4 and I still lose almost every major war I have . I usually use 20 width infantry with a lot of air support and fighters , yet I still manage to lose against USSR , and other majors while playing as germany.

Can we see your infantry division's composition and stats? Do you use tank divs for breakthrough?

Umm I don't think It's necessary to tell the full stats. I just use 20 Width Infantry with Artillery support as well as Recon and engineer. I only build tanks at late game and those are 40 width Medium tanks with some mechanized.

How many troops do you have when the war starts? Also think of building tanks earlier, especially as Germany.

I usually have 5 Generals leading 24 divisions each.

You should be able to conquer the world with 120 combat divisions. There are many Steam Guides on how to play as Germany. The earlier you attack the better off you are. Germany starts off strong and the world starts off weak. Attack them before they get time to build up.

One powerful strategy is to attack Poland right after you help Spain win their civil war. You do help Spain for all the free Army XP right? You should be able to win the Spain war in less than 6 months. After you take Poland prepar for an early war with Russia. Wait for their Great Purge event and then declar war. You can take over Russia in 1938, be at peace with the world and build up for the war against the allies.

Alternatively, attack the European nations early before they have time to build up. That's generally the easiest strategy.

There's no chance not to get bored quick in multiplayer as an allied minor. Especially British Raj/New Zealand lol

I have not had much luck as Germany. I do all right until the United States joins in. The only way I feel that Germany can win is making the Soviet Union the bad guy and having the Allies go to war with them. That means not starting any war with Poland or anyone else that might drag Britian and France into declaring war on poor old Germany. Then join the Allies by declaring war on the Soviet Union to gain some territory when they're defeated. Taking on the Allies and the Soviets is what defeated Germany in the real war.

Never lose as Germany! Max the mobile warfare doc as fast as possible.. If you get the modern blitzkrieg doc or atleast kamfgruppe before war against soviet you Will win.. And in a 24 div army i have atleast 5-6 tank divisions and 4 mobile infantry you Will smack them.. Tiger tanks are very strong so get some of that.. And keep alot of tanks and stuff in stock.. Cuz you Will need it.. And I have around 3000 stukas and 2000-3000 fighters versus soviet and alot in air doctrine to.. And dont rush to fast into soviet after a bit in let soviet lose alot of supplies and tanks when they try to push you back.. You have alot of defense bonus so let the sucide some troops against you the you push harder and gg
