Airborne strategies
Should I spam a ton of paratrooper divisions with 1 battalion in it without any support companies and dropp them everywhere to try to cut off the main enemy from supplies, capture some victory points and distract some of their troops so I can push on the main front?
Which is basically a suicidal strategy for the 1 battalion paratroopers since they will get crushed if they encounter any resistance.

Or should I build better airborne divisions but less since it is restricted by the special forces cap?

What do you guys usually do?

And also how many transport planes should I build?

Build bigger and better air born Because if they drop on an important Victory point or port they could possibly win allowing capitulation to be faster. You could spam them but enemy could just rekt them in 2 seconds if they guard the capital

What division design would you reccomend for airborne? And how many divisions of that size can you produce?

40 width paradrops with support companies is best for major landings. You can also spam 20-10 width with support companies for some effective drops

The issue with this is high width = less divisions since there's a cap.

Early game I stick with the default 6 width ones, and as I get a bigger army I'll increase the width. You only need like 24 (a full army) paratroopers max unless you're doing crazy ♥♥♥♥.

You can also lower the width early if you can't field a huge army and need more paratroopers.

I don't really know how transport planes work, but I build like 3 of them and they can fit my whole army for some reason, not that I'm complaining.

Paratrooper division width have weight so let's say you have a 24 width division. You will need probably 2+ transport planes.

it depends on scenario and year.
for example, you can use 18 divisions with 1 single brigade to conquer france in 36 and 37. once you learn where they have garrison and how they will move, it is quite easy, and france will surrender after 4 days. however, in 39, this would not be possible against france.
same thing with uk, up to late 38 it is possible to use 36 paratrooper with 1 brigade to get pretty muce all of southern uk almost without cassualties. but this is not possible in 39.

in 39 and later, it is possible to drop behind enemy and cut them of using single brigades. however it is quite risky, and you need to make a wide drop. dropping in a single line, would be waste. a 3-4 provice wide drop line would be recomended. but it also depends on scenario.
for example, you can do it agains usa in eastern part, but it would be almost impossible to effectivly use this against soviet (because they have much more divisions behind the lines, and therefor will be able to break through and kill your paratroopers). so against soviet (and japan) i would not drop single brigades...
