How do i get hungary to join axis ??

I'm doing a historical campaign and i want hungary to join axis before I attack the soviet union ? at one previous campaign even after I started "barbarossa" hungary remained neutral, so what am i missing

In historical they will join the Axis without you needing to do anything apart from accepting their request to join in 1940-ish, unless you do something funky that is.

If however you want to speed things along as Germany, split Slovakia with them and they pretty much join on the spot.

Outside of that, you kick up world tension above 80% i think so non alligned's can faction up, this usually brings Hungary in too.

Are you Germany? If so, your left side economy focus will make them go facist very quickly.
Also, with historical on, they'll eventually go facist anyway through a focus.

So either you can boost ideology, use the focus, or just wait. Hungary naturally has a facist acceptance, so you can do a NAP + military access to easily boost opinion. Don't forget to give them Slovakia and Transylvania.

as Germany, take Align Hungary (and align Romania is good too). This will make them join the Axis soon enough. If you want you can puppet them with the focus after that

when you do fate of Czechoslovakia and choose to partition Czechoslovakia with Hungary, they'll automatically join the Axis. Hungary owning Slovakia is better than a slovakian puppet state anyway.
