Those are the only things that count to war score, sinking enemy ships both combat and merchant, destroying airforces and armies, sending supplies via lend lease. Hell even the little things such as guarding another nations port allowing them to redeploy forces to the front line is in and of itself helping towards the war effort to some degree same as having your ports repair allied ships / be used to stage invasions from so on so forth. And yet none of those count for anything. That is the issue, not that casutlies taken reward too much.
War score is currently an undercooked mechanic that is more difficult to work out that more kills = more war score especailly when you can litterally farm kills as you have demonstraited. I'd like MtG's to address the naval aspect of war score and underline the importance of denying trade and sinking fleets but we're gonna have to wait and see for that one, but if that does get seeing too then it's not a stretch to imagine that the other aspects of war contribution will be adressed at some point.
Let's hope so.
