Do factories disappear after civil war?
I lost a lot of factories after going fascist as South Africa. Is that meant to happen? If so, how many do you lose?

Bump. Anyone know how it's supposed to work? It ruined my strategy and I want to adjust for this in future games.

One guess I have is your stability was lowered a ton by your civil war, resulting in more Consumer Goods factories being used. Or the AI converted them to military factories.

If they're military factories I don't know, damaged during the war maybe?

AI won't delete factories as far as I know.

you dont loose factories, unless you loose territory.

the factories probably need repairs, and can be seen in the building tab.
it could also be that more of your civ factories go to consumer goods.

Definitely not that they need repairs nor a consumer goods issue. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Loaded an earlier save to double check. Can confirm that I went from 16 civ factories to 11, 11 military factories to 7, as well as going from 12 building slots in one province down to 9 and 11 building slots down to 9 in another.

Googled it and some people suggest that you lose building slots and any factories in them that you gained as part of national focuses after leading the fascist coup. Perhaps that's it. If so it's a very annoying feature.
