but if you absolutely want to, i would go for 3 larm and 2 mot, with eng and rec support. then have some garrison units to protect ports.
alterative, is to use 5 cav + art and mp support, set to garrison ports and deal with resistant. then select all territories. the ai will automatic battle against the ones that you are at war with, and protect ports when they take one, as well deal with resistance.
Don't use cav because they have negatives that infantry don't.
You use Mountaineers because they have bonuses in hills & mountains that infantry don't.
You would use Infantry if you don't want to bother researching special forces types.
Mixing marines + mountaineers + all the support gives you better overall bonus across more terrain types, you will recieve decent attack bonuses on/against forts, marshes, rivers, amphibious attacks, hills and mountains and defence bonuses in forests, hills, mountains, jungles, marshes, rivers & forts. You will get bonus movement in everything (mostly due to the recon + engineers) except urban (cities).
The main thing to remember is if you go special forces, is to keep researching them, and when attacking through poor supply, you are able to improve port & infrastructure to improve the supply situation.
If you're in a super low supply area consider if you need to even be there.
