Communist Yugoslavian Puppet Joins Axis

I was playing as Romania and had Communist Yugoslavia as my puppet and in my alliance, and out of nowhere, it joined the Axis.

What happened?

1. it become a puppet of germany somehow (or some other axis member)

2. it had a nat foucus to join the axis

i don't think its number 2 as looking at its foucus tree rn in my soviet run they don't but im alos useing Rt56 so

There's no war or anything though, and they're my puppet(integrated as well)

I'm legitimately bothered, I invested heavily into Yugoslavia, lost 100k or so men capturing it and had built up level 10 forts on its borders, and it literally just nose dived into the axis.

ok so
in my so far little testing um i have no clue what happened or rather i have no clue why what happened happened
what do i mean?

so i had france as puppet of germany
and useing focus i had france ask to join the comintern
which then made them indepent as soon as they joined?
for some reason
which i legit couldn't tell you why
so if they are still your puppet your rather lucky

edit: so i think its just that hoi4 is hyper buggy

yeah they somehow joined the ALLIES w/o useing a foucus which i don't think they should be able to do

so yeah hoi4s "logic" is iffy at best

i give up my brain already hurts and it only took 24 mins
hoi4 (imo) is a great game but i think they need to fix more then a few things with it

since they're integrated just annex them and if you really want them to be a puppet, re release them

No, it's not my puppet, it was, but it left somehow and joined the axis.

I think the national focus thing is the most likely answer, but the fact that an integrated puppet can just break free of an alliance through national focus is ridiculous.

This is a problem on multiple levels.

1: Tito is a big fan of the Axis apparently?

2: Why does peacetime Communist Yugoslavia want to join the Axis while Italy is half capitulated and Germany is being pushed back to Berlin?

3: Why is an integrated puppet allowed to do national focuses that instantly flip their allegiance?

Seems like quite a collection of oversights.

1. i have no clue i can only assue yugoslavia gets a foucus tree in a dlc/mod as i don't own any dlcs

tbh factions/puppets are hyper broken i mean commie france who is part of the comintern somehow joined the allies which should NOT be able to happen

Still a problem in 2022. Puppet Yugoslavia (minus Bosnia and Montenegro, also puppets) is still allowed to do the national focus to release Bosnia and Montenegro, but the effect of this is that they flip from being my puppets to Yugoslavia's puppets.

This game is an utter mess.

Yeah Yugoslavia is pretty broken when it comes to puppeting and factions. I just annex them or puppet Serbia and give them the land. I guess Death or Dishonor did them pretty dirty, their focus tree is pretty lacking even.

The problem is the focuses are severely lacking logic/situation checks. But don't worry, the sith empire will be invading in the next dlc for only $25.
