How to break through the Maginot Line?
What is the best way you would break through the Maginot Line when playing Germany?

They nerfed breaking through the line to the nth degree honestly.

You go around it.

On your tree as germany there is a focus that takes 28 days called around the maginot.

I seem to recall you are new to the game. So look for a guy on youtube called feedback gaming.
Look up his videos for some good strategy.

You can do a trick to declare war on belgium and france at the same time and have neither guaranteed (this will take quit a bit of PP which is why you dont pick a focus at game start).

In the past what I did was use the paradroop strategy where you drop behind the maginot line with paratroops. But they nerfed this because you could abuse paratroopers and drop them right into capital cities.

Look up his video called super germany or something like that from 2018. If you are curious you can see the old video on france (which was way before 2018).
Feedbackgaming is very good at this game and I approve of watching his videos.

One easy strategy I recommend is making a fallback line that lets the french push into bavaria (Don't let them take all of course, you should still have austria when doing this strategy). Once they're in you can use your tanks to cut them off from supplies (and if you're quick enough, take over the maginot line without much resistance) going from the Moselland state downwards.

Once they're cut off, proceed to reinforce the maginot line and watch them suffer, either push farther into france or kill off the troops you've encircled.

Try going through Italy. If your in the axis, you should be allied with them.

I recommend watching "Count Cristo" and "Taureor" for singleplayer videos and learning how to play the game, I personally can't stand Feedback's voice or his rambling to the 9th degree. "TommyKay" is entertaining in my opinion and I'd recommend watching him when you get into Multiplayer. As for breaking or going around the Maginot, look up Light Tank divisions if you want to go for "encirclements" as they are the fastest tanks in the game and they are fast enough to overrun most units relatively easily when encirling, medium are fast but moderately "beefy" so you won't have to worry about being penetrated as much, and super heavies are basically unstoppable but slow beyond belief, it really depends on your playstyles, how good at microing, etc you are. I'd watch some videos by Count Cristo and Taureor to get a "feel" before just hopping in.

Three solutions were presented here that all work.

Through Italy is the least successful option because there is a chance France will keep enough units in the mountains, and if they do... good luck pushing through.

Retreating out of the Rhineland and setting up a defense outside of it with armor on the flanks intended to cut off French forces is a possibility. It runs the risk of being unsuccessful but presuming you built enough armor... it won't be an issue.

The most successful way to invade France is ALWAYS through Netherlands, then Belgium, then France to Paris. Paris is ALWAYS your goal. Once Paris falls, France falls.

If you really want to mess with France, you can launch a coup in Vietnam. Takes a lot of PP, but it'll really throw them off as they will keep trying to naval invade.

Why waste PP on something like that? Always better things to spend PP on with longer term dividends!

Also once you win the war, the other France will take all of the land (unless you declare war on that france too, which if it's communist it could join the Comintern.)

That'd be a cool mechanic if we could start colonial uprisings instead of coups though.

The last time I just went straight through it in a matter of days with tank divisions., but this was of course against AI. So I don't recommend it in multiplayer.

If you REALLY want to go straight through it, you'll either first let them in and wear them down (or at best: cut them off) OR you gain superiority in the air and bomb the Maginot Line to pieces (which will take a lot of time).

In my case there were just like 1-2 divisions per province, because AI.... So it was really easy to rush through with 20 panzer divisions.

This is still possible. I did it last week with 24 paratroop-divisions. There was some luck involved, but they still surrendered within a day

Assuming your not looking to go through the benelux then you could use planes and bombers to damage the forts and try to push in with some tanks. Most likely the french will for some reason use the amazing tactic of removing all their troops off the front line. Another option is just paratroopers. take paris and win.
