HOI 1 is still fun

I kinda wish 4 was literally 1's gameplay with updated graphics.

The tech research was much more interesting. Each country's vehicles could have different abilities from the others.

But I couldn't go back to the Hoi 1 or 2 maps

Darkest Hour essentially has the Hoi2 style maps. The game works great and it's very odd that Hoi4 instead of building on Hoi2 and Hoi3 is a big step backwards.

That is a matter of opinion. By and large, no it isn't. But it does do some things better.

Darkest Hour essentially has the Hoi2 style maps. The game works great and it's very odd that Hoi4 instead of building on Hoi2 and Hoi3 is a big step backwards.

Darkest hour (full) has a much better map than either HOI 1 or 2. In fact DH is quite significantly better than HOI 2 in almost every way, IMO.

As captain403 said, it does some things better. I found it more balanced than DH, but the latter has more content, a better map, and is probably the most polished HOI.

It would definitely be better than this dumbed down, AI-challenged HOI4.

Even better would be Darkest Hour + Arsenal of Democracy with updated engine and graphics. That would be an evolution. That would be worth the hype. This is just a disappointing cash grab aimed at casuals and suc*ers.

This would be the bomb!
