Does AI Axis Ever Win?
Seriously, has anyone ever seen it happen? I'm trying to get a grasp on how slim their chances are.

Every time I play a non-German country I check up on Europe once in a while to see how things are going, and 10/10 times the USSR alone is enough to crush Germany and Italy in 2-3 years, let alone with the help of everyone else.

I don't feel we're playing the same game at all.

Buff Germany like everyone does then pretty simple. Axis need to control world tension and keep it under 40% for quite a while which the AI doesn't understand how to do. If you give a buff 1 lvl to Germany and Italy you're looking at a more even fight.

In most games War ends on dead point that slwoly go toward Allies favor as Axis conquer Soviets but is overwhelmed by Allies production in (long) time.

But particualrly since last aptch I saw Axis conquer UK (about 1/5 of games, one time even Duce did it!) and twice form many games I saw Axis succesful invasion to US.

The only time Axis is not winning in my games are when I play as the Allies or the Commintern, otherwise Axis always wins in my games. (well in singleplayer, that is multi is a different story)

In my game, Germany always crushes the Soviet Union and occupies the entirety of mainland Europe while reaching a stalemate with the U.S and U.K.

The historical innacuracy with historical focus on is amazing, USA always loses Hawai, Germany always crushes the Soviet Union, USA always does nothing to aid the battle in Europe, My immersion on the game is so low since everything is off to chance and it did not used to be like this. At least National Spain still manages to win against Republican Spain.

Oh yeah Republican Spain. They always lose. Never seen a Republican Spain win either, but I can completely relate to an utterly apathetic USA.

Right now in my game the Allies and Communists are fighting it out in a WW3 type deal. The entire European mainland is in Soviet control but the US is apparently content to just send volunteers and lend-lease equipment despite having, I kid you not, 800 ships in their navy while the USSR barely has 20.

I think it has to do with military access. I play as France and the British empire will switch 40-80 divisions from France to Africa. One month I have 40 allied divisions sitting on the spanish border and next month they are in Africa fighting the 10 Italian divisions.

The Axis are far worse about using military access. I played German and allied Japan, half the Japan army group decides to travel to France around Africa. Only the garrision units are left to defend. I have seen many transport deaths.

The allies have more production to replace the AI transport troop suicide. Sometimes the Axis gets more production.
I saw it happen once, strangely enough in a world where Japan wasn't even in the war.

I've seen Germany beat the Soviet Union a few times, and maybe once force the United Kingdom to surrender.

I dropped that game pretty quick.

Eh, even in real life Japan wasn't an influence anyway. I do believe there was a handful of cooperative moments (i.e exchanging information through submarines) but for all practical intents WW2 was basically just a Pacific War and a European War fought simaltaneously.

It's rare in-game as RNG pretty much has to work against the Comintern and the Allies across the board. (Spain and Romania joining Axis, pact of Rome not forming, Japan attacks Russia instead of US, India and/or South Africa defecting, etc.). A straight up Italy & Germany form the Axis and attack Russia is not enough, though the new mechanic where Italy conquers half of France and Vichy doesnt form does seem to help.

What's changed with Italy now that they can conquer half of France?

My experience with the Italians has been...disappointing to say the least. They have terrible division builds and feel like a liability whenever they join up with me. Their whole country is basically just a gigantic coastline with the only saving grace being a crown of mountains to their west and north.
