"Failed to connect" in multiplayer

Recently, when I try to connect to multiplayer games, I've been having the problem of an error message saying "Failed to connect". We mod, but it's generally with simple things such as Millenium Dawn or The Great War. I know I've been using the same mods, version, and have had a good internet connection when I try to connect. Not sure what the problem is, but it's quite annoying. If you have any solutions, please do tell!

i've had the same problem recently, the only way i know how to fix it is to revert to 1.5.0. I dont know how to fix it on 1.5.1 with or without mods.

thought it was something to do with new fibre broadband i got in recently, thankfully im not the only one with this problem

even reverting to 1.5.0 still doesnt allow you to play multiplayer as most servers are running 1.5.1 or 1.5.2, i had no problems with connecting to multiplayer games i the past perhaps i need to port forward ports or something?

I found the way to fix it
when you are in the startup menu you need to like clear user dirrecery and that should do it

its in the launch menu
it only worked once for me though, i had to reinstall the game, sadly

The clear user directory hasnt worked once for me. i reinstalled the game 3 times and none worked. ik for sure its not mods, because i even uninstalled all of them at one point. im completely lost on wtf to do ; pls help

clear user directory worked for me once, before i had to reinstall the game. then, after like a week or two it happened again and i had to reinstall something like 2 or 3 times as well. i dont really think its a controllable problem

I am also having this problem, I have no idea why it keeps on happening. I've tried it with all mods disabled, didn't work, clearing user directory, didnt work, reinstalling the game, didn't work. I really need help here. It works well with my friend here in my country, but when I want to play with someone else in another region like Australia, it won't work. Is it because of the regions? Then again, before this happened, I was able to play with him with mods, so I don't know what the hell is going on.
