Promoting Generals

I don't know if i'm just missing something or this is a bug, but whenever I promote a General to a Field Marshal, their division capacity doesn't seem to increase. Am I being dumb or is this an actual issue???

its how the new system works. Field Marshalls command Generals, Generals command divisions. both can only command 24 divisions or 30 divisions with a certain trait. Unless with a garrison order which increases the cap to 72.

Fun fact; there is no reason to keep generals as generals and not promote them to field marshalls. Generals get 2 trait slots, field marshalls get 3. A field marshall can play the general while under the command of a field marshall in an army group they literally do not change. the only difference between the two now is that the field marshall can lead army groups and gets one more trait slot.

But field marshals can no longer hold unlimited divisions like before? The max field marshals can hold is 30 now?

Generals do get to upgrade different traits than field marshals, so you can get some useful traits for tank or airborne generals (with the panzer/cavalry expert or commando skills, which level into skills like combined arms expert and gliders).
