HMS Argus And HMS Hermes

At the start of hostilities in 1939, the Royal Navy had 7 aircraft carriers it could call on. These were HM Ships Ark Royal, Glorious, Furious, Courageous, Eagle, Argus and Hermes. However, in game the Argus and Hermes are for some reason missing, leaving the Royal Navy with 5 CVs in 1939 as opposed to the 7 it should have.
Is there any explanation for this?

Both of them were light carriers with small number of aircraft (Argus 15 and Hermes 20) and in HOI4 the carrier 1 has a decksize of 45. So both of them end up in the escort carrier grouping and that has been abstracted into naval doctrines. There has been countless discussins about this over at paradoxplaza forums.

That’s odd, I’ve never came across any discussion about this before. That’s probably because when I type in anything to do with HMS Hermes it always refers to the wrong one 😤

Well it is a historical game there's ways to counter navies.

Dude ofc I have no single problem with dealing UK as any major or wannabe major, but unfortunately Im playing mostly minors and its a fokken boring and painful to see the same one immortal UK, roping in the whole planet into your cozy little war between Malaya and Dutch Indies and after that, burgerking shows up and it wents really unplayable just because AI Axis has 0% chance of any touching even just UK mainland without human help.
