Discord ruined gaming

I've been kicked for 10 severs for not having a microphone with my discord. I shouldn't have to get a $500 dollar microphone to play a game I already brought. This will probably trigger a lot of discord-f*gs but I do not care. It has ruined my experience.

Your poor experiences with voice chat are indicative of nothing except that people are selfish in every medium. Which you yourself prove by demanding that people play with you even when they don't want to.

Buy a $10 mic if you're cheap, or invest in a better one if you plan to do more than a little talking. But don't pretend that your demands are anything other than self-centered. There's nothing wrong with prefering text chat, but demanding that everyone else use your prefered system because you're too lazy to invest a little time and cash in your hobby is preposterous.

People would probably take you more seriously if you didn't wield hyperbole so dramatically that you immediately come off as lying/flame baiting.

I am not demanding that everyone uses my medium. I am saying it gets annoying that with this game you get a DLC coming out every other month mixed with this? Yes it is a hobby I enjoy but I am not made of cash nor gold. I just wish people wouldn't instantly kick me because I do not have a microphone. But my demands are equally self-centered as theirs. Do not forget that. Everytime I tell post this (three times) a discord shill comes out of the woods and it never fails. It is one thing to ask someone to join a free website (discord) but completely something else when you demand them to have an obscure piece of equipment just so they do not have to read.

You didn't mention anything about DLC in your original post, which sure makes it look like you're changing the subject because you couldn't think of any answers to my post that wouldn't make you look the fool, but still really wanted to post.

No one is obligated to play with you. On the internet, like in real life, people have expectations if you want to be their friend. You're not living up to their expectations. You can change yourself, find people who appreciate you the way you are, or whine about how unfair the world is. You've chosen the latter option, which is a lot more likely to be the reason no one wants to play with you, rather than because you have no mic.

You seem extremely defensive of this. I do not know why but you put me off, almost as if you are just a discord shill scrolling through forums looking for desenters. You probably are just a shill, though. Yeah, they do not need to play with me, nor do I need to play with them, but if you can't play with someone because they do not have an extra piece of equipment that's pretty sad, tbqh. You're post comes out as veiled butthurt, mine is pure butthurt but I am not trying to veil it, sad!

True, and these are usually the best games because they last long, the discord-less ones last until the host capitulates and rage quits or when they're is one desyncer and it lags down the whole game and everyone quits.

A. I know but if they are Britain and I am France it causes problems
B. It is much easier and reading takes 10 seconds. Most of the time it is harder to hear what the people in the discord say due to a mouth full of food or a foreign accent (the latter I cannot blame them for). Also you can reread messages but you cannot do the same with voice chat
C. I don't dislike it unless they're isn't a discord with manditory mics

Discord ruined gaming? What? It's been a decade and a half since VoIP saved gamers from having to stop playing and start typing long messages - Rarely has a single piece of technology made more sense for gaming than this.

The fact that you don't have a mic in 2018 is entirely on you. No one wants to type anymore, and it is grossly inefficient, even in Grand Strategy games.

The first non-shill post with effort. I have to give you props for that. Sometimes I do feel like a relic of the past with no mic, but even if I did got a mic I would prefer typing because it is easier to relay long messages with no screw-ups. But you have your own opnion!

In your own post you accuse me of being both 'textbook'(read also, 'formulaic') and yet you also point out that I'm very clearly an individual expressing my own unusual opinions. Your ability to ignore this contradiction even as you wrote it is probably a product of the same type of thinking that tells you that when other people don't want to play with you consistently it's because they are, all of them, the ones being rude.

Oh, and I didn't bring politics into it. I pointed out a behavioral correlation between you and an inidividual who also happens to be a politician. His politics have very little to do with anything I said, as I was purely pointing out similar patterns of thinking, believing, and acting that the two of you have in common. I thought this observation might warrant a little self-reflection, but I see I was wrong.
