Can't disband units
Why would this happen?

Special units that you receive through events can't be disbanded, as I understand it. Otherwise, your very thorough and well written description of the problem still isn't enough to deduce what exactly ails you.

No I mean like I was playing as one country, taged my ally and deleted the retarded DEATH STACK they had so they could actually fight and went back to my main one..
Then after that I can't disband ANY units, even my own

I am sorry I am 2 years late, but just had this problem and solved it.

You need to go to \Documents\Paradox Interactive\Hearts of Iron IV and in settings change save_as_binary=yes to save_as_binary=no.

Then you go to your savegame file and search for the name of the template you can't disband and change is_locked=yes to is_locked=no abd then you will be able to disband those troops.

not finding the is_locked
