How do I win the spanish civil war as either side

I have 591 hours at hoi4 yet Im still unable to win the civil war as a republican or a nationalist spain , please help.

Your divisions suck (sorry), but you can use terrain to your advantage. Take defensive positions in the south and along the river next to Madrid and hold there - force your enemy into attacking where you have an advantage. Micro your troops hard all the time, rotate troops between your lines when their organisation drops, don't let it hit zero. If you plan to push, gather troops to attack from multiple directions while harrasing nearby sectors to not let your enemy relocate troops to aid in battle. Whenever you see your enemy redeploying start preparing attacks on that sector as well as adjacent sectors at once. Always try to encircle at least one enemy division, this literally erases them from the map. In the same time, avoid encirclements at all costs, don't hesitate to retreat. Make plans to get planning bonus, but don't execute agressively.

You need to get onto youtube and watch some videos on how the combat system works and division design affects combat. It doesnt sound like you have a firm grasp on that. Trust me it will be greatly worth your time

After the war is won you can get a communist advisor and turn into republican spain
