2. If you want to naval invade, be sure to have at least 75% naval or air superiority
They do not say that they are reparing just "docked". I have also tried using the "never repair" command but it doesn't appear to eb working.
I've used naval invasions with only the minumum (50%) so far, and it is working. If I needed to wait for 75% I would need to put an in sanely large navy and airforce in the area, which in the pacific is with its many sea areas needed even for single island is not possible.
The navy are only on naval invasion task.
They might also be set to a 'high' chance of success, there's another little button which says what the navy is willing to engage, so you could drop that down to be willing to take more fights and hope that's a fix if the first option doesn't work.
If you want your ships to patrol the sea zones, then use Convoy Escort. This can accomplish the same thing, but your ships won't assist with naval bombardment, but you can always set your ships to Hold next to the LZ.
If you are not able to launch the amphibious invasion, then you need to provide more information. Where is the start/end of the invasion? What is your fleet size? Screenshots help.
I was trying to invade Iwo Jima and launch my invasion from the other island in the same sea area.
I don't understand what you mean. For a naval invasion to be possible you have to set your ships to "naval invasion" so that they prepare the area between launch and target.
I think i figured it out.
Ships set on naval invasion only escort troops that are set to naval invade. I thought that ships on naval invasion mission prepared the sea for a naval invasion. And the ships won't leave port because there are no troops to escort on the seas,
