News events don't pop up!

So as the title says, newspaper events don't appear for me. This applies to anything that comes up on the "world news" newspaper from capitulation notices to events in which you have to make a choice and it has an effect.
It seems that loading up a save makes all the events that should have appeared up to that point pop up but its annoying having to do that everytime. If you have a solution Im all ears.

There's an option to turn those events on / off. Have you checked if the news papers and events aren't set to not appear? Could've happend by accident when you was checking something and miss clicked.

I went to the game and checked but there is no event on/off button or anything close to it and I checked all the options

Yes, there is.

First button next to your country flag shows the events and descissions you can make.
Top bar of that got two boxes that needs to be checked to have both event and news popups showing.

If both of those are checked in your game, a follow up question would be: are you using any mods?
Coz things work as intended in my (historical AI / Ironman) game.

Even with the three boxes checked, I still don't have pop up.

If you go into observor mode for any reason and then tag into a different country events wont pop up you have to make a save when you tag in and then reload and then events should pop up
