If I disband a unit do I get the equipment and troops back to my stores?
I want to convert Germany's 3 weak panzer divisions to 2 stronger ones for use in Spain.

if you delete the unit in your own territory, and they arent surrounded, then yes.

u can just change the unit out with a new one . dont have to disban. there 2 green arrows one up one down , there on the top left of the units page u that pops up.. or u can shift hold number of units and change as many as u like at a time . i grp up all units in one and scroll adn find all my horse units and change them into my inf units as russia. germany u my want to keep horses.

If you disband them you will gain the manpower and equipment back, but you will lose all their experience. A better idea would to be just to change their template. You will lose some of their experience by doing this, but it’s way better than just throwing it in the garbage. You can change their template by opening up the division information window and clicking on the division icon in the upper left hand corner.

You should almost never disband your divisions. Change them to your upgraded templates which is way faster as others described.

Thanks everyone. It worked out that I disbanded the 3rd panzer div and made the remaining two much stronger, but did so early so I could train them back up. Later the very strong divisions are sort of where I want the start of war divisions to be strength wise.
