I CAN'T EVEN REVERT TO 1.7.1 NOW

ok so longstory short, after the new update my game will crash on loading by straight up not loading the game on fullscreen and crashing when it's time to create checksum on windowed.
i decided to finally accept defeat, and revert to 1.7.1. that will fix it, right?
NOPE
SAME PROBLEM
all i can guess is that either my computer JUST SO HAPPENED to have a stroke when the new update came out, or that the update corrupted my files. so, in conclusion, thanks a lot paradox.

EDIT: so turns out that I was right, as once i uninstalled the game, deleted the files, and re-installed the game, it worked fine. so fellas, this means that the loader must have corrupted my data. FELLAS. THIS UPDATE LITERALLY BROKE ALL MY GAME FILES. WHAT KIND OF CHIMPANZEES DO THE HACKS AT PARADOX HQ GOT WORKING FOR THEM?!?!

I didn't have this problem, but I agree, this launcher just makes things worse.

They id the same thing to stellaris i was hoping thy would just forget to put as new launcher on hoi 4 but here we are.

I still play version 1.5.4. Everytime I think of trying the latest update and buying dlc I come on the forums and read nothing but issues. Guess I'll just stick to the older version that works.

Edit: Just tried to play and the launcher play button doesn't work. It just opens up a browser talking about if mods don't work. Great so now I can't play at all.

I ran it as a clean install, no mods. It still crashed on startup.

How can they drop the ball so spectacularly? I don't think Imperator even had these issues.
