supply system WTF?
why is the supply system such a huge ♥♥♥♥♥♥?
I play as soviet and am defending on the eastern front against Germany.
His army (although it has basically the same stats) is pushing eastwards and I lost almost all of eastern poland. but I am about to lose everything since i get a -18% malus for low supplies FOR WHAT EVER REASON. THe provinves with low supply are almost captured, and the infrastructure is damaged a bit. (apparently losing territory lowers supply output) . The enemy is NOT bombing me (but I am bombing him, and he is advancing through enemy land with damaged infrastructure.), he has ca. equal amount of troops and BUT IT IS ME who is low on supplies but not Germany. HOW ♥♥♥♥♥♥ UP IS THAT?! (btw. i also use logistical companies)
THe old system in Hoi3 was much better than this cluncy unlogical ♥♥♥♥. HOI4 just demonstrates how to NOT MAKE A SEQUEL.

Not much information to go on, but I think you are doing something horribly wrong. Either the division templates consume too many supplies on their own and/or too many divisions are concentrated at the frontline. Also it might help to check the supply mapmode for any bottlenecks.

i hate to be the one to tell you this but i'm sure the problem you are having is in some way your own fault. those guides above can help you solve your problem better than us because we dont really know your 'exact' situation.

Well, I won anyway. THe problem is that that the supply zones are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ huge. In the old Hoi3 every province was a supply zone and the supply followed a line. Now it is possible to have a totally well fed army, but if they make only 1 step forward into a new zone, they are completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥. THes system in general is horrible. You also cannot build infrastructure unless you control the entire supply zone (or most of it)
On the other hand armies on Island have apparently unlimeted supply no matter how many convoys you killed. So stupid.

And you cannot choose the supply way through the sea, and you cant do shirt, when the bottleneck is an low infrastructure in a province of your ally with lvl 10 port because fook you, and your lvl10 dockyards and railroads in the 1 province away, game knows best.

Its been broken since day 1, no fix in sight. The devs don't care and instead give us bicycles...

I love pushing into a province with 10/10 infrastructure at your back, but because the province your in has 1/10, everything breaks down and you can do nothing. You can't push because no supply. You can't build infrastructure because you don't own the province. Both sides just sit there bleeding out equipment...

Or taking USA as Japan, then watching your supply ships go across the Indian Ocean, Mediterranean, and the Atlantic to supply the US East Coast instead of just going across the Pacific... And of course cause you can't invade Panama from the west, can't get any ships to the east, can't build over there, so you just bleed out convoys...

HOI4 is an utter mess from top to bottom.

Have you tried supplying from the air?
Kaisha Mar 12, 2018 @ 10:42am
Supplying the US from Japan via air? No can't do that.

Or are you saying that with 10/10 supply at my back, my army should grind to a halt the second it steps foot into opposing territory? Like that makes any sense.

None of this patch makes any sense. The changes are complete and utter sht. Nothing happens anymore. No one conquers anything, no one can push anything. The AI just sits there afk on the front lines now till the game is over. With the nerfs now its pretty much impossible to push anything. Being on defense was already massively OP, and now its just 10x worse.

With 1.5 this game has become more boring than watching paint dry.

You hated the game in 1.4, too, because the enemy AI would attack too much. Now that they defend, it's too boring. At least your comments aren't filled with hyperbole, as that would undermine your entire post...

When a game is left unfinished and unbalanced for such a long time, and the devs - after making millions in sales - only slowly fix and improve it, parcially through overpriced DLC, it's easy to only focus on the negatives. But surely not everything is terrible.

Sadly, some people, especially if affiliated with the devs, may try to use your justified criticism to paint you as an irrational hater. There are worse games out there, worse devs. If you didn't like HOI at all, you wouldn't even care. Of course you only want it to be better.

LOL, I know this was directed at me, but you sound like a patronizing father figure to Kaisha. I can just hear you shushing him/her to sleep.

First off, spike and avantech, I know you guys are best buddies but if you’re gonna argue don’t go doing it across forum threads.

For the OP, I don’t know what you’re having trouble with, but since the new update I have barely noticed a difference in supply. Perhaps I haven’t looked close enough, but in a campaign where I was UK invading US in 1948. US had 1000+ divisions, and it was pretty hard, but I was still able to make progress, alebeit slow, but progress nonetheless. The game has its problems, but sometimes you just have to work around them
