Antisemitism in HOI4

I recently purchased this game and was super excited to start killing some nazi scum. But almost immediately I realized something was off. There is no mention of the holocaust and Hitler isn't even portrayed as a villain, let alone the monster that he was. He is just another playable character, completely interchangeable with any other. They have completely whitewashed Nazi atrocities.

So I'd like to bring attention to the elephant in the room. Paradox has blatantly disregarded six million of my brothers and sisters who died at the hands of the Nazis. I am saddened and disgusted by it. I'd like to know your thoughts about this omission, and how we can bring more attention to this terrible tragedy.

This is one of the big problems with the game is that it doesnt bring attention to the fact that millions of people were killed by Adolf Hitler and I have no idea why Paradox Has absolutley NO mention to it at all, But I agree that its disrespectful and rude. Maybe in a later update or DLC Paradox might do something about this, Could also be an opportunity for some interesting german Events and bonuses/Defects.

Because most people will be turned away by that kind of thing, for a lot of people it's uncomfortable or offputting and people don't want to be offput by their video games. Plus it's not exactly advertiser friendly. I guess they could add an event marking the beginning or end of the holocaust depending on the in-game date, and that would be fine, but otherwise I'm not sure how you mean to have it implemented. I do like the idea from the post above though, in terms of bonuses or defects based around it. Maybe production bonuses for germany at the expense of pp,national unity, manpower or something along those lines.

Isn't it LESS advertiser friendly to portray Nazis in a good light? I think Germany should have the holocaust as an in-game event but they should be unplayable. Why would anyone want to be a Nazi anyway given that they are literally the scum of the Earth? That would address pretty much everyone's concerns.

The game is in no way portraying the nazi's in a good light

that said...

a lot of it probably also have to do with german law.. there's a reason why his picture is blurred in the german version. if they censor that they will for sure censor a game that actually "shows" the holocaust

I happen to have an aversion to evil, unlike you nazi scumbags. Nazi Germany should be banned and the game should be more clear about who the good guys were and weren't. The only thing making them playable does is that it allows people to empathize with the Germans which is really just playing with fire from my perspective. My great uncle died in the holocaust so the threat is very real for me and my family. Let that sink in for a minute.

There's a difference between playing a game and acting on a malevolent impulse. Censoring a form of media (a game in this example) is something that actually INCITES these regimes.
